Online Account Opening for Non-Members
Your application to become a member of Winston-Salem Federal Credit Union must provide evidence of your eligibility to join the credit union. The following categories describe the variety of ways you may be eligible for membership in Winston-Salem Federal Credit Union.

Geography
If you live, work, worship, or attend school in Forsyth County or Guilford County (NC).
Relationship
If you are an immediate family member of a current member, or you live in the same household with a current member, then you are eligible for membership.
An immediate family member is defined as spouse, parent, grandparent, sibling, step-child, step-parent, step-sibling, adopted child, or any other legally recognized family relationship whether or not living in the same household. Household is defined as persons living in the same individual residence and who maintain a single economic unit, including any person who is a permanent member of and participates in the maintenance of that individual residence and who demonstrates a degree of permanency (not someone who is visiting for a short period).
To prove your relationship, please provide information about the WSFCU member's name, their member number (if known), your relationship to the member, and their contact information.
Employer
If you are a current employee or a retiree of one of the below employers, then you are eligible for membership. Examples of proof are a recent pay stub or an employee ID card.

Organization
If you are a student or participant of one of the below organizations, then you are eligible for membership. Examples of proof are a student ID card, a registration statement, a recent pay stub, or an employee ID card.

What You Will Need
To complete the application, you will need to provide the following information:
- Personal information including your name, address, and social security number.
- Government identification such as a driver’s license, passport, state, or military identification card for each person who will be on the account.
- Social security card for each person who will be on the account.
- Proof of eligibility (see above for examples).
- If you choose to fund your account by transferring funds from another institution, then you will need to provide WSFCU with the routing number and account number of that account. You may fund the account as follows:
- In person at the branch with cash, check, or money order.
- By mail with a check or money.
- Payroll direct deposit.
- Wired funds.
- By having an existing member transfer funds from their account into your account.
We do not permit accounts to be funded by credit card or debit card.
